Wishing for spring

So I noticed that it was 30 degrees at one point here in Lincoln this afternoon. Which makes me wish for spring. For nice green grass, flowers, and butterflies. And no more snow. Or ice. Think we can manage that? I know it's only the middle of February. . . but I can dream can't I? So that is why I am posting a picture of a brightly colored book. I checked it in yesterday, and the first thing that I noticed was it's shiny silver cover. Which got me thinking. How often do you see a children's book with a silver cover? Actually outside of a Star Wars book, I didn't think I'd ever seen a picture book with a foiled outside cover. But wouldn't you know, a couple of hours later, when I went to the backroom to look for something, there was a large silver book sitting on our new display cart. And it was a youth nonfiction book. It's about the Titanic. Sitting there in all it's silver foil cover grandness. Huh, shows you never to assume anything. So actually both of these books are new; published in 2007. Perhaps it's a new trend in children's publishing.
So back to the butterfly book:
It's insides are just as cool. The girl is looking for her butterfly, and on each page a bit of color shows another insect.
Turns out that it has pages that have cut away slots. And then at the very end -- surprise -- it's a pop-up book!:

Now this is something you don't see too often. Pop-up books don't last too long in a library.

I should add that the book is "Butterfly,Butterfly" by Petr Horacek.
