I took this picture two weeks ago after our first big snow since October. Pretty sight to be sure. Nothing like glistening icicles.
So it's snowing again. Enough to cover the ground. Light fluffy stuff that I could quickly brush off my car after work tonight, already exhausted from a busy day of customers at the library, and trying to check in as many carts as we could at the same time, since today was the first day our computers were "up" and "running" after crashing on Dec. 23 due to ice covered power lines. (Now, that's a heck of lengthy sentence! Take a breath!)
Well, kind of up and running, since our techies had to take Horizon off line twice earlier in the day to fix things, thus leaving us writing down barcodes by hand when customers needed to check out. Fun fun. I was mostly upbeat. Had to be, or else we would all cry. There were 4 of us working today, plus our wonderful, wonderful aides. So since I don't have any pics of our backroom right now (and all the bins from the returns we had today), here's a picture of what my car looked like after that big snow before Christmas. That prevented me from driving home Christmas Eve because roads were closing due to blowing snow.
This is a picture of our street. I'm not going anywhere even if I could get out.
Thankful at least that I don't have to battle digging out garages or alley's to get to work.
It snowed on New Year's day too. But on a happier, more positive note it was a pretty, sprinkling snow. It snowed large flakes that gently fell with the bright sun shining through. It was very picturesque, since at the time I happened to be eating breakfast at this quaint cafe with some of my very best-est friends. It used to be the neighborhood fire engine house, so it's large picture windows were where the garage doors used to be. Plus I happened to be eating the best Egg Benedict's I have had in a really long time. And the English muffins were homemade. Wish I had a picture of that scene!
All in all, maybe winter isn't so bad after all. They plowed our street. :)
